Do the Reuse Challenge: Food Containers
279 People Have Accepted This Challenge! /challenges/disposable-containers food Do the Reuse Challenge: Food Containers
Ready to ditch disposable food containers? Here are some handy Challenge DIY tips & tricks to get you doing the reuse in no time.
Get excited. Ask your friends for lunch ideas, or dig into websites like epicurious.com or cookinglight.com for recipes that will get you jazzed to put those reusable containers to good use.
Try bite-sized pieces. If reusing for a month seems impossible commit to reusing for a week or two instead. See how easy or challenging it is and up the ante from there.
Be prepared: Do your lunch shopping over the weekend so you have plenty of tasty food to pack. If time is tight, make lunch the night before so you can simply grab and go in the morning.
Pack snacks too. Shop the bulk section for healthy snacks like raw almonds or dried fruit and keep them in small containers at your desk or in your car. They will stave off hunger until you get home, nixing the need for emergency take-out (and all the disposable containers that come with it).
Contain yourself. More stuff to clean? No need to freak out. We suggest using dishwasher safe, microwave safe and leak-proof food containers. It makes life easier, and easier is wonderful.

Big Props to everyone for accepting this challenge! I have taken all three and I think that it is the hardest one of all three! but it also saves the most waste, which is REALLY rad and gratifying. What do you think? Is it as hard as you thought it might be?
