Challenge: Do the Reuse Challenge: Water Bottles
Filed Under: At Work, Children and Reusing, Environment, Save Money
We are doing a super job! We haven't purchased any disposable water bottles. We have saved definately a good sum of money. It's been fairly easy. We fill up the water bottles at night and the kids use them to drink at dinner. We have a brita filter with spout in the pantry and we fill them in there. My family is forever changed! I am trying to inspire people at work with recycling and reusing our paper, our cups, and everything else. This has certainly branched out into much more than we signed up for. It's great to know we are helping the environment and having fun doing it as well.

Challenge: Do the Reuse Challenge: Water Bottles
I keep taking pictures of the kids and the water bottles. Thought I would get my husband in there using his water bottle. He loves it!!! I make him coffee every morning and he takes it in his new alladdin coffee mug. This has been great!
The Challenge has definately been interesting!!!

The reuse challenge has made me more aware of all of the things that we use and just throw away. We have been continually using our water bottles at dinner, at games, at practices, and at the office. It has been very interesting, to say the least. The kids are now in love with the little water bottle packets like the gatorade and crystal light. They fill up their water bottles and put a packet in there and love it!!! It's great! Think of all the money we are saving not purchasing Gatorade or flavored water. It's seriously great!!
I have also made some serious headway at work. I have sent a proposal to my boss with several ways we can recycle and reuse in the workplace. I have got them to agree to several things that I think would work great. I have got them to agree to stop purchasing foam cups and plates and plastic silverware and install a dishwasher. I have also got them to agree to a streamline recycling program container. We also have implemented a new program to reuse the backs of paper for documents for review only before recyling the 2nd time. We have also designated a tray in our printer for recycled paper to print on the backs. This has reduced our paper usage greatly.
This has definately inspired me to do more. Stay tuned, there's more to come....
